My primary interests lie in the neurobiological underpinnings of feeding behavior and in understanding how our diet affects our brain. Specifically, I am focusing on the role of the mesolimbic dopamine signaling pathway in maintaining dietary preferences, and how this pathway changes with prolonged exposure to calorically dense diets. In our lab, we utilize a combination of transgenic, chemogenetic, molecular, and behavioral techniques to aid us in our investigation of these topics.
